In November 2022, Niantic friends Pete Porrello and Nick Sagar celebrated their first anniversary as business partners in the new Divine Wine Emporium, located at 275 West Main Street in Niantic, on Rte 156 just up the hill from Rocky Neck State Park. We kept the former name, as the Emporium had a loyal following as a retailer and classroom for over 20 years under wine educator Ken Turcotte. While we still have a prodigious wine selection, we have increased the beer and spirits significantly. We installed 10 full-door coolers to carry an assortment of imported and domestic beers, including numerous local microbrews. Customers are amazed at the inventory of wine, liquor, and beer that are available in this pleasantly old-fashioned setting. Some ask if it’s still a restaurant, because for many years the establishment was occupied by a series of eateries. During the colder winter months customers love to warm themselves in front of the original rock fireplace alight below a barn-beam mantle with the tribute “Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often.” Pete and Nick invite all customers to stop in and experience the knowledgeable and friendly staff and expanding selections of wines, spirits, and craft beers. We offer free delivery within a 5 mile radius. We also offer gift baskets, accessories, and decorative bottle bags with ribbon wrapping for special occasions.
